Former ELO Cellist Michael Edwards killed in freak Hay Bale Accident

Michael Edwards, 62, was killed after a 600-kilogram hay bale (about 1,323 pounds) rolled out of a field and into the path of his van.

Mike Edwards can technically be called the first Rock Cellists.  Roy Wood played Cello on the first ELO album, but he was a multiple instrument player, not a true cellist.  Mike Edwards joined the band after Roy Wood left, and played on ELO II, On The Third Day, and Eldorado, before being replaced by Melvin Gale.  That would be him on the right in this video.

Former ELO Bassist Kelly Groucutt died in 2009.
